" Mommy Wait ...."
Just the other night, I was getting ready to put Landon down for bed while Daddy was dealing with fussy little Corbin. We were in a little hurry because it was already past "bed time" and we like to keep a pretty strict bedtime regimen, (espcially on school nights or else Landon is overly-tired the next day) anyways .... I had Landon quick brush his teeth, go potty, pick out a book, etc. etc. As I finished reading his book that he had picked out, I stood up & said my good nights, gave kisses, and turned the lamp off, but as I turned to leave his room, I heard these words, "wait, mommy you didn't pray." WOW! Wake-up Call! I knew that in the midst of a rushed bed-time routine and my tiredness of the day, that I had missed one of the most PRECIOUS MOMENTS in my child's day, praying with him! HE relies on this every night and looks forward to praying for people. I have pondered on those few little words and the Lord taught me a simple lesson. The Lord knows and sees how our daily lives are & how they can be filled up with so many "to-do" things everyday, He knows our worries, He knows our fears, He knows our troubles, but all that he tells us to do is, "let your requests be made known to God." And that is one concept that I am working to instill in Landon's life. I can chuckle now because in many circumstances lately I can see the Father on the throne saying, "Amanda, well you didn't come & pray for that." The ultimate start and end to our day should be talking with our Heavenly Father! The only one who can fix a problem is Christ! Back to the story ....I turned and said Landon, "You know what, yes, mommy did forget to pray & I am sorry, but let's do that right now!" So we went ahead and prayed and we all had a good night's sleep! The next night, I was able to share with Landon in more simpler terms what I have shared here and what a testimony Landon was to his mommy! Remember what is important to our children as this brings joy to our Heavenly Father! Thank you Landon, I love you! ~ Mommy~
